I'm pretty sure that if you fill the tank and not vape off it... it would probably still leak....
the question now is what is the source of the leak...
I think where the center stem connects to the atomizer, if it isn't a perfect seal, the negative pressure in the tank would be compromised.

I tried to smoke an e-cig once. Couldn't get the damn thing lit.

@larktdl is your flooding the build area, also causing some wet gurgle vape ...or just coming out the air holes on base?

There is no vacuum / air leak. If I cover the airholes and suck there is no air. So it isn't the seal. There is no wet vape or gurgling.

I am going to try and explain this the best I can .... I am good at showing but writing is not my bag.

Anyways on a new build (cotton and wick) ,,, fill tank. Vapes like a dream (this is why I don't want to give up on this tank because it is the best darn vape I have ever had). No leakage to the AFC. Second and subsequent fills ,,, at some point it appears that the juice will find its way into the AFC. The only thing that makes any sense to me is during the process of removing the tank from the base something is occurring during de-pressurization (??) forcing liquid into the AFC via the RTA airhole. If I pat dry the RTA and blow out the AFC (rinse it and dry it) before connecting the parts 98% of the time no leakage (if there is any it is minimal and can quickly be cured with a wipe of the AFC holes with a vape towel).

BTW, the leakage is the same if I use the v1 of the RTA for the subtank or v2 of the RTA that is included with the Subox starter kit.
    Regards,
    Tom

the leak may be so slight that you may not detect the leak with sucking. Just tried it and even with the air holes covered I still get air sucking.
I don't suggest blowing in the drip tip... just did that and it flooded my coil...
put blowing with the tank upside down didn't flood it, with a full tank you might see if there is any air showing up around the center stem and the atty head.

Good Suggestion, I will give that go next time I fill it up.

    Mine was leaking also.
When I turn the air hole adjustment you can feel it click. There are little holes that a ballbearing sits in.
If I keep it in a clicked loaction and not halfway between zero leaks, move it halfway and leaks.
I think the bearing presses on the ring and somehow it leaks, how I am compeltely baflled, but by keeping it in the set locations I get zero leaks with any of my coils.
