Update - SS Rope, no clue what size or density (Thanks Funky!) sleeved with 3mm Eko Wool, wrapped with twisted 34 guage (Possibly 36) resulting in a 1.3 ohm coil. Currently best build to date.

I have been using the silica or cotton wrap for some time now ...
On Friday, I got Ekowool and started using it. The Ekowool works much better and is now my wrap for the wire rope. IMO the ekowool wrapped to the rope (or as you call it 'sleeve') is the only hassle free method to build a genny.

You should give it a go on a mech using 28 awg kanthal ribbon wire wrapped for about 0.7 ohms. What a terrific vape!

I found good results with the Rsst with a an almost solid wick with the fill hole open. I use 325 mesh and about 65 to 85% VG juices. I do oxidize fairly well. I have a dual coil of #28awg 3 wraps each @ .5 ohm and it seems to work amazingly. Also drilled to 1/16". I haven't had good luck with straw wicks. So I guess its whatever works for you.
