Thanks. I also ordered form the Japanese site and also chose the $2 shipping option. There is no tracking with this option. Hopefully we actually get it.

I got the hemp fiber out of a ECF co-op.
I had done some research on hemp and have come across thread, twine and yarn in different stores but always had reservations about buying it. This hemp looks like a off white cotton baton and came in a rough pile in a baggie. I boiled the hemp in 2 pots, once 1 pot got boiling I tranfered it over and repeated the process for about a hour, didn't press it too much and let it dry ontop of the pellet stove then brushed the fluff back into it with a fine wire dog brush. They said that the hemp will have a woody breakin taste but after looking at the hemp I noticed it had what looked like shredded stalks that were different shade than the fiber, I removed all the off color and the little matt looking balls. I've had no woody taste what so ever. Some said to soak in peroxide and baking soda then boil but I couldn't be bothered to go through that much hassle. I'm now on day 6 of the hemp build I'm vaping now and its still performing well, way outlasting the cotton before.

In the pics the left fiber is how I got it and the right is after I boiled and brushed it. They both look kinda the same

This is the hemp inside one of my protank heads

I'm really not sure where to get it in Canada but I'm very satisified with its performance compared to the cotton...happy enough to shelf my cotton right beside my ekowool and silica
These numbers reflect both my wife and I who both quit on the same day.

Dude, I am so loving the cross-over between my crafty side and vaping happening here.

Anyway, I would look for anywhere that sells spinning supplies, like this:

How thick is that hemp? 12 bucks for shipping! Don't want to order unless I get a batch of stuff.

It's fibre used for spinning, so you can make it as thick as you want. Being in Calgary, you can probably find an actual store that sells roving and be able to touch/feel before buying. I bet these guys could help you find a local source http://www.heritageweaversandspinners.org/

I was really leary about just grabbing hemp from either the cranbrook walmart or even the local stores around here. Most didn't have any markings on them other than 100% hemp and some felt waxy and I just didn't trust the sources. Even with the cotton its a crap shoot to if the manufacture added extra goodies to the cotton but hey....gotta give it a shot anyway. Living in a small town I have very limited local resources but like living in Calgary you can have a good sit down with the yellow pages and prolly find hemp fiber real easy.
Me getting that hemp in that ECF coop was sheer luck since the hemp that was offered filled up in less than a hour and I was only allowed to get 1 ounce but that 1 ounce filled up a large sandwich bag, enough to vape for quite a while.
I use a bead threader to fold it over and pull through the coil thus less waste than twisting and its more even on both sides of the coil.
If you do get ahold of some hemp be sure to boil it well in 2 pots and remove the shards of off colored fiber and the little matt balls. I have had absolutly no funny breakin tastes with my method of preperation of the hemp fiber I got.
These numbers reflect both my wife and I who both quit on the same day.

Cool.. Peaches & Creme yarn may be used for any knit or crochet pattern that recommends a natural-fiber, worsted-weight or bulky yarn...
