They DID all go to Facebook, and i did too and got involved with the movements in several other provinces. But the level of infighting between groups and some incredibly egotistical people combined with the apathy of the general vaping population turned my guts. Now i just vape and stay out of the fray. Facebook convos have the lifespan of a mosquito. Wackedout was the bomb in its day. I miss it.

If anyone wants to help out or has suggestions.. i'm always all ears I have been super busy with work so not often i get to check it out.. i have some plans to change to the forum in the coming little bit... I tried to curb the chinese vendors by getting them to buy their own subforums but that seemed to backfire and too many posts were china related so in the future i will move away from that as the subforums expire, go back to pure canadian content... was my mistake at the start.

I don't think that will help Shawn. We saw it coming in 2012 (FB). The bad part about FB, the data is short lived and if I am not mistaken, unsearchable. BXFan summed it up rather nicely. FB has been at the centre of many controversies, not just vaping related. We hear it all the time on YouTube from a wide spectrum of topics. FB was not invented for what it is being used for.

This was the first place I came for info today when I decided to get back into vaping and I did notice it was very quiet indeed... I did however get my question answered right away ... ended up hitting a local shop so I could start vaping now then ordering a bunch online too (cause this juice I grabbed tastes awful, and I should have known it would as i know recall having tried and not liking this line before duh).... hopefully this forum picks back up as i remember it was the place to go back in the day.

indeed was the place to be back in the day, we will try to bring it back to it's former glory. Focus more on the canadian feel as originally intended rather then the international. Learn as we go. All in all it's supposed to be a fun atmosphere so hopefully that's how we can keep it
@Switcher you are correct, i think many migrated but i see the same issues.. not being able to search things that are great posts.. but fall into the darkness after a few days or hours sometimes. That's where we have the advantage so just focusing on that i suppose

IMMHO Shawn, the $1M question that needs to be answered is why folks migrated to FB in the 1st place? BTW this is not the only forum that this has happened to and, it is not necessarily e-cig related. There was a shift, a slow shift, but a shift. That is the Q we need answer. The other side of the coin, with all the B&Ms that sprouted in the world since 2014 (once upon a time it was more or less strictly Internet sales) folks get one on one info. Is it great info? Sometimes not, depending on the level of expertise of the employees, but they will get them started. IMHO both B&Ms and FB cannot replace the value of a forum. You (employees) may have 45 min to an hour with newbies, but the amount of traffic that goes through a B&M makes it impossible to grant folks that much time, every time they visit.

Vape meets filled the gap in the day, but they are now dinosaurs as vaping in public is no longer allowed pretty much across the board.

The biggest down side, is folks are ill informed and that is why we see more and more accidents that could have been prevented. It could also be argued that it is pro-rated because we have more vapers. I don't buy that. The misinformation is rampant, at least from what I have been exposed to locally. The writing was on the wall. The late Kyle Kurts would not sell sub-ohm kits to beginners, unless they were capable to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. Even with regulations, unless there is an enforcement arm of the regs, unethical shops will continue to sell vaping supplies indiscriminately. 4 shops here still sell to children, one of them is a convenience store besides a high school. We are our own worse enemy
