Probably nothing wrong with Passive Vaping!

Thanks to Qorax for originally posting this here: E-Cig Forum Thread

Researchers compared the 'constituents of air' in a room during passive vaping to that during passive smoking. And for a pat in our back, here's what they 'found':

    Chemicals..................................Passive Smoking.........Passive Vaping
    Nicotine:.....................................34..............................0
    Acrolein:.....................................20..............................0
    Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons:9.4.............................0
    Carbon monoxide:........................11..............................0
    Xylene:.......................................0.2.............................0
    Toluene:.....................................1.7.............................0

I like studies, but not flawed ones.

What nicotine concentration was used in the EJuice?

All the data is here: http://clearstream.flavourart.it/sit...CSA_ItaEng.pdf (followed the link in OP, then the first link from there)

It looks like some good preliminary data for sure, but the study does recommend more experimentation. Given the way that I've observed vapour to behave (falling rather than rising) I think another thing that researchers should look into is the amount of nicotine and other constituents on surfaces after high volume vaping.

The study is peer-reviewed, conducted by recognized research doctors, with no stake in the game. It's also the 2nd study of the same subject, with the same results.

Concentration was 11mg (per ml). So a good average.

ECTA is conducting a similar study, in conjunction with Enthalpy Laboratories, using 36mg eliquid, though from a slightly different perspective.

The clearstream study was intended to measure second hand vapor effects (what exhaled vapor contains). It's purpose is scientific knowledge for the medical community.

The ECTA study is measuring first hand vapor effects (what a person is ingesting when inhaling vapor). It's purpose is to educate policy makers and ensure vendors understand the effect of the product they sell.

It's pretty hard to 'educate' those that have made up their (severely limited) minds once they have decided that something is evil.

Vaping is new and people don't like change.
I am a firm believer of not invading other people space and asking for permission before starting to blow vapor in anybody's face.
If it's proof that vapor is 100% clean and noting harmful can come out of it it is still going to be controversial vaping in someones face , just like having BO or wearing too much perfume , not illegal but some peeps will get pissed

Good read waiting to see more info to come out in future. I feel much better since I started vaping.
