Diablo hybrid too hot / coil pops

    Hey folks,

so way back when i first got my rrst i got some 32 guage wire, got some normal stuff then some nickle stuff then some ribbon...

I have built a few coils on my diablo and pretty much every coil i have built is a headache... i wrap a coil and fire it up for 1 second and POP it blows the coil.. have to redo it again...POP... another coil... try new wire... blah blah... Eventually if i tinker with it i will get it.. BUT my problem right now is that it's not a smooth vape, it's VERY hot... to the point it's not really that great.

I'm no expert with coils and such but am i using the wrong wire or wrapping wrong? I wrap it 3 times..... when the coil dosnt pop i can get it to glow red... take away the hot spots... etc... then i can vape it.. but it's overly hot/warm which i can feel at the back of the throat... Good throat hit but maybe too much i dunno hard to explain?

I've tried different juices and no diff.

I used lots of RSSTs prior to getting my pair of Diabls, and was shocked with how much harder they hit. The voltage drop is much less than on a mod with an RSST, hence they get way hotter. I have never tried wrapping a coil with 32 gauge- I'm a 28 gauge kinda guy- but I could see how your coils would pop with a thin gauge at the slightest sign of a hotspot. Have you tried wrapping a coil with 30 gauge, or 28? That might help you out. Maybe try 30 gauge with a few more wraps to get the resistance you like. It might help.

The thing is called a Diablo after all... It's all about intensity! I don't know if it's made to create a 'smooth' vape...

you might be trying to pluse it was a battery that has too much power left in it. Try using a half dead battery. The thing about it being to hot means your ohms are too low, trying adding atleast one more wrap.

What gauge of ribbon wire are you using?
If it is the stuff from Eastside vapes it should work just fine. Nubbie is right, add another wrap.
Now, if you are using wire rope for the wick you could wrap a thin layer of cotton (batting) to the exposed part of the wick --- doing so eliminates the requirement to pulse. The cotton wrap should work for mesh.
    Regards,
    Tom
