    Genesis Maintenance Questions

I have been vaping gennys for a while but never exclusively. Iíd always jump back and forth several devices a day.
Since getting my Diablo I have been on it exclusively for over a week and I have a few questions for long term genny users.

    Performance drop?
A fresh 4.2V battery in it used to rip my head off with my .7 - .8ohm coil. After a week a new battery hits like a 3.8V. Iím assuming this is a result of the wick and coil requiring some type of maintenance (cleaning) or I need to make a new one?
How do you clean it or do you just start over?

    Do you vape the Goo?
I have a 4ml tank and when I get down to less than 1 mil itís think as molasses I have both syringed it out and just refilled over it.
    What do you do?

You can clean the coils by dry burning. Empty tank, pulse fire the mod. Any crusty build up on the coil (eventually) cooks into a fine ash that can be blown off. Keep doing it till the coils are un-gunked. Other than that, resistance does tend to drift upwards over time, usually ~.2ohms (in my experience). Don't forget you also get used to the higher watts! You may just not be FEELING it, rather than it actually performing worse. (I had a quad coil Igo running and it was a little on the cool side for me, but a friend couldn't take a 1 second pull.)

The Goo...when I was running gennies I would (personally) just pour on top of the goo for one or two refills (one day use more or less) and empty it at the end of day/when wicking became an issue.

I dry burn the coil every day or 2 and the resistance has drifted up a tad but still .8 today from .07 when made. I must be getting used to it! Dam!

Wicking hasn’t been an issue yet regardless of how thick it gets but it just looks gross and the taste is not as good.
    Thanks Stash!

I have found that should you start getting "light hits" with juice in the tank the easiest way to clean a dirty coil/wick is to; remove the top bell & drip tip, fire the device to thin out the sticky juice at the coil and then gently pinch the coil& wick between a paper towel/napkin/kleenex and blot out the brown carbed up juice. This does take a few times to get it cleared up but does work for lightly fouled wicks/coils.
Every couple of days when the tank needs refilling I carefully remove the wick and coil together and pass it through a torch flame. This burns off all the carbon build up on the coil and in the wick, it also gets the "molasses" out of the wick.
You will notice that the wick will be glowing orange for an extended period of time when you do this (that's the carbon/molasses burning inside the wick), keep passing the flame over the wick/coil until it appears to cool down (turn black) seconds after the flame is removed. This insures the very centre of the wick has burned all the juice/carbon out of it. The last heating should be dropped in water to quench.

As I have a stainless tank and can not see where the "molasses" is in order to suck it all out, I add a little hot water, shake then drain.

NOTE: be mindfull of how intense your torch flame is as too much heat on a delicate coil could burn it off. All that is needed is enough heat to ignite the carbon, I perfer to use a small torch lighter over a propane torch.
