Bill 45 - Ontario - What you can do to help!

Recently, the governing liberals introduced provincial legislation to regulate electronic cigarettes. This proposed regulation is far reaching and will greatly affect your ability to vape freely in Ontario. Some of the restrictions in the proposed bill include:

No Sales to Under 19 (one agreeable point)
No Displays of Electronic Cigarette hardware
No Displays of E-Liquid (with or without nicotine)
    No Listing of flavours
No Showing consumers how to use or troubleshoot the devices
No Vaping in Vape Shops, thus no Vape Lounges
    No Ontario Based Online Sales
No Indoor Vape Meets in Public Spaces (Even if private club, a paid venue or rented space)
No Vaping in vehicle with persons under 16 years old
While we certainly agree with some of these points, this legislation is going well above and beyond what common sense would dictate. I urge all vapers, especially those in Ontario, to take action and help to fight this bill from becoming law. Should the government succeed in Ontario, it would likely be the roadmap for provincial legislation across the country which could endanger the very idea of vaping in this country.

Being adults; you all know you'll get form letters from writing or "we're looking at its'" from Govt. Bottom line is stand firm or it's going to crash and crash hard but think you all know that deep down inside. Tax monies/Greed/BT/Pharma never let up with misinformation or scare tactics while most of us just vaped on looking down road very little. Good luck to all of us but this is more than about health, it's about Billions of dollars so hang on. My opinion I've been babbling for nearly a year. Hope you see writting on wall by now.

Hi Vapemoshi, I think you should get in contact with Todd Shapiro show on sirius xm. You set up one of the hosts with a Vape and they talk about it all the time on air.

You should contact them and setup an interview! I emailed him this weekend and he got back to me asking if I was willing to go on air to tell my story.

He broadcasts across North America and he shows interest on this topic. From what I hear on his show he is a big supporter of this industry.

Cut & paste any or all of my text I send to my MPP Jeff Leal, Peterborough

    Dear xxxxx xxxxxx,

I understand the 2nd reading of Bill 45 will recommence on March 11th...

I need to let you know that e-cigarettes have helped release me from a 45 yr addiction to cigarettes. I have made earnest, hard fought attempts to quit multiple times.

E-cigarettes have helped me improve my health (lowered blood pressure, improved respiration, reduced cancer & stroke risk, allowed me to exercise, etc) which I and my doctor are certain will save OHIP $$$ in the short & long term.

I feel better, I look better, I smell better, my home & car are now smoke free.

Please do not support any Bill that will hinder access to or increase costs of e-cigarettes. These are NOT tobacco and have no place within that body of legislation and enforcement.

I firmly believe that there are only two issues at hand.

    1) Keeping addictive chemicals out of the hands of young people. On the other hand, why are sugar, salt, and fats not addressed as harmful, addictive substances?

    2) Governments are not getting their cut of this growing market while losing revenues from declining tobacco taxes. Therein lies a problem! Are government "quit smoking campaigns" nothing more than a business expense in that tax revenue stream? Sounds like "trying to suck & blow at the same time" to me. I'll remind you that governments are getting their HST from vaping vendors.

I don't want to lose your interest by rambling, so I'll end here and ask you politely, to not support any measures that move e-cigarettes into anything even resembling the costly bureaucracy of tobacco regulations.

    Sincerely

    yyyyy yyyyyyyy

Those regulations or whatever the government is trying to call them is a load of poo... pardon my french.

I understand completely about not selling to minors, and to be respectful for where you are when you want to vape... but the facts show that this is not anywhere as harmful as cigarettes... nor does it smell anywhere close to it either. Everyone that vapes, knows vapers, wants to vape, we need to stand together as one community and fight back for once!!!!
